Hopefully, the following will answer some of your questions about the upcoming Tee-Ball season.  If you cannot find your answer here, contact the 24-hour voice mail and your call will be returned as soon as possible.  That number is . . .

1.                    When does the season begin?  On-line registrations begin February 1, 2007.  “In person” registrations are scheduled for 3/3/07 and 3/10/07 at Birdneck Elementary School from Noon to 3 PM.  The current plan is to have the coaches meeting sometime before the end of March.  Your coach should contact you shortly thereafter.

 

2.                    When will games begin?  “Opening Day” has not yet been determined but will most likely be late April.  This date depends on many factors.  Your patience in the beginning of the season is greatly appreciated!!!  Since most of our “Tee-ballers” are brand new to the game, a few more practices in the beginning are usually beneficial!

 

3.                    When does the season end?  The season should end around the same time school does.

 

4.                   Can I choose the coach I want?  You can absolutely request a certain coach.  However, there are only so many players we can place on one team.  Your request will be granted if at all possible!!!  WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR COACHES --- PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD!

 

5.                   Can I choose the day I want to practice?  This is a hard one!  The coordinator tries to place kids according to requests, but the practice day is really up to the specific coach.  If you absolutely cannot practice on the day your coach has chosen, just call the voice mail.  If anything can be done to accommodate your needs, it certainly will be!

 

6.                   How many practices are there during the week?  Again, this is up to the individual coach.  Once a week is normal, but each coach is allowed to choose two practice times per week.

 

7.                   What do I get for my registration money?  Your registration money goes towards the equipment for each of the 15 to 20 Tee-Ball teams, as well as all the other ACHR teams.  All registration money is collected and spent for all Courthouse Recreation teams throughout the year.  Your child is provided with a team jersey and ball cap that is theirs to keep.  You are required to provide your child with his or her own glove and any other item you deem appropriate.  Cleats are not necessary.  If you decide to purchase cleats for your child, they must be rubber soles.

 

8.                   Can I coach a team?  YES!  YES!  YES!  We are always in need of good people willing to give the kids a couple of hours a week to help them develop into polished athletes!  It is an exciting and rewarding experience to watch these young people grow in the sport.  Please contact the coordinator either at registration, on the sign up form, or via the voice mail, if you are interested.
