Notes

  • Athletes will need to wear a white t-shirt with their last name on the back in large letters, as well as cleats.
  • Athletes arrive at 1 st practice 30 minutes early to fill out cards for us to sign. 15 minutes early thereafter.
  • Each coach will be assigned to a station. Athletes will rotate stations. Change coaches' stations each day.
  • Complete each athlete's card after each turn.
  • Each coach will receive a list of athletes. Make honest suggestions on which skill level athletes belong in.
  • Reminder: Coaches - the first week is for conditioning only and to evaluate the skills at each station.
  • Teaching fundamentals is for when you have an assigned team.
  • Any coach or assistant found out of the boundary will be subject to dismissal.
  • First week equipment needed: 3x5 cards, cones and footballs. Each coach should have his own stop watch.
  • Larry will make arrangements with Equipment Coordinator (Steve M.) for cones and footballs. Larry will also get 3x5 cards.
  • Each card will contain the boys experience, weight, age and station numbers.
  • At the conclusion of the session on Saturday, July 26 th , Coordinators and coaches will determine the placement of athletes in their divisions (B or C).
  • The session scheduled for July 26 th will be the final practice to determine which boys the coaches would like to draft for their team.
  • On July 27 th Larry and John will select coaches for each division. The number of coaches will depend upon the number of athletes signed up and have participated in conditioning.
  • The 125 draft will be held on Sunday, July 27 th at 2 PM at Birdneck Elementary School.
  • First date that conditioning team practices may begin is August 1 st . Each team must condition (no hitting) for 5 days prior to begin live hitting practices.

Dolphin Gridiron Summer Football Camp

July 7-11

Ages 6-14

Time 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon

Cost $90.00 pre registration by July 5th

$100.00 at the door

One fun filled week of learning fundamentals of football

Instruction given by the Ocean Lakes Football Staff, local high school coaches and college athletes from Va. Tech, J.M.U., Norfolk State , Old Dominion etc.

Championship games will be played at the end of the week.

There will be daily awards given to campers.

this is a NON-CONTACT football camp.

Baseball Camp - Ages 6-14 : Learn the fundamentals of baseball, including batting,bunting,base running,throwing,catching,fielding and team play. Campers must bring their own glove.

The baseball camp will be conducted by St. Clair Jones, Kellam baseball coach and 2002 beach champions.

Softball Camp ages 7-15 : Learn the basics of hitting,pitching,catching,throwing,fielding and more. Campers must bring their own glove and indoor athletic shoes in the event camp must be moved indoors.

This softball camp will be conducted by Denise O'Connell, Girls softball coach at the Princess Anne High School .

Volleyball Camp-Ages 12-17

Instructor Jason Seaford is a CAPI volleyball coach certified through USA volleyball. Emphasis will be placed on drills so players will learn by performing the game skills and be more knowledgeable about the sport and able to play at a higher level.

Football Camp - Ages 7-15

Learn fundamentals of passing , kicking,catching,running and more. Conducted by Jim Prince, Ocean Lakes High School Football Coach.

Basketball Camp- Ages 8-14

Learn the fundamentals from expert instructors, including ball handling,passing,shooting,rebounding,defense and individual offensive moves. There will also be shooting contests and races. Individual skill development will be emphasized.

Conducted by Mark Butts, head basketball coach at First Colonial High School .

Monday June 16th-Friday June 20th 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
